Free WoW guild Discord templates
Free WoW guild Discord templates with channels and roles ready to go. Learn how to apply one, and how to make your own as a backup.
Templates can only be used when you're creating a new server. You can't apply one to a server that already exists. If you're improving an existing server, start with How to set up a guild Discord instead.
What a template includes
A template is a starting skeleton, not a full copy of a server.
| Included | Not included |
|---|---|
| Categories and channels, in order | Messages |
| Channel settings, such as topics and slowmode | Members |
| Roles, with colors and permissions | Bots and their settings |
| Channel permissions | Custom emojis and stickers |
| Basic server settings | Server boosts. Set the server icon and banner yourself |
Standard emojis in channel names are just part of the name, so they carry over. Custom emojis don't, so you'll upload those yourself.
The templates
The base of every template is the layout from my Discord setup guide: Leadership, Important, Guild, Raids and Voice categories, with the channels described there.
Some people find 30 roles too many, so each style comes in role packs you can pick from:
| Role pack | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Basic | Guild ranks and the newcomer roles |
| Basic + classes | Basic roles plus one role per class |
| Basic + raid roles | Basic roles plus tank, healer and DPS roles |
| Basic + professions | Basic roles plus profession roles |
The styles differ in their emojis and dividers:
| Style | Look | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Style 1 | Coming soon | Coming soon |
| Style 2 | Coming soon | Coming soon |
| Style 3 | Coming soon | Coming soon |
| Style 4 | Coming soon | Coming soon |
How to use a template
- Open the template link.
- Follow the prompt to create a new server from it.
- Name the server and upload your logo as the server icon. (A Forge logo works well here.)
- Review the channels and roles. Rename anything you want and recolor roles to match your brand. The hex codes are in the Discord setup guide.
- Add your bots, upload your custom emojis and fill in your welcome and rules channels.
Templates from other people can include permissions you wouldn't choose, so give the roles a quick look before you invite anyone.
How to make your own template
Once your server looks the way you want, turn it into a template. It's useful for sharing, and also as a backup, just in case.
- Open Server Settings and find Server Template. You need the Manage Server permission, and you do this on desktop or the web.
- Give the template a name and description, then generate the link.
- After you change your server, click Sync Template so the template matches. A server can have one template at a time.
Menu names can change over time, so if you don't see them, search Discord's help center for "server template". Keep in mind that a template restores the structure, not your members or messages.
