  • Build Our Lives Together (BOLT)
  • Philadelphia, PA

Job Description

This position is expected to begin on August 10, 2026

The Site Manager is a key leader on BOLT’s program team, responsible for driving strong program implementation across 2–4 partner school sites during the academic year. You serve as a coach, relationship manager, and capacity builder —equipping teachers, interns, and youth leaders to deliver high-quality, consistent programming.

During the summer, the Site Manager transitions into a lead facilitator, directly leading a cohort of youth and ensuring a high-quality, engaging summer experience.

You will own site-level success year-round: building strong school partnerships, supporting educators to implement BOLT’s curriculum, and ensuring students experience meaningful, impactful programming. You will also manage 1–3 interns and contribute to a culture of strong execution and continuous improvement across sites.

The majority of your time will be spent managing site relationships, being on the ground in schools, and ensuring strong program execution.

Seasonal Structure of the Role

Academic Year (Primary Focus: Capacity Building & Site Management)

  • Manage 2–4 school sites and serve as the primary point of contact for school partners
  • Coach teachers and facilitators to implement BOLT programming effectively
  • Build strong relationships, systems, and program quality across sites
  • Observe sessions, provide feedback, and ensure strong youth experiences

Summer (Primary Focus: Direct Facilitation & Youth Engagement)

  • Serve as a lead facilitator for a cohort of ~25 high school students in BOLT’s 6-week summer program
  • Facilitate daily programming, including leadership development, project-based learning, and community-building activities
  • Manage and coach an intern supporting your cohort
  • Participate in a 1-week pre-summer training for staff and coaches
  • Create a strong, engaging, and supportive learning environment for youth

What We’re Looking For

Capacity Builder & Adult Learning Facilitator: You know how to support adults to lead effectively. You can coach teachers and facilitators, lead professional development, and translate curriculum into strong practice.

Strong Relationship Manager: You build trust with school partners and can maintain consistent communication, alignment, and accountability across multiple sites.

Owner Mentality: You take responsibility for outcomes across your sites—ensuring programs run well, challenges are addressed, and goals are met.

Observant + Grounded in Philadelphia: You understand the lived realities of Philadelphia youth and ensure programming is relevant, responsive, and rooted in community.

Systems & Execution Oriented: You manage multiple workstreams, stay organized, and follow through. You improve systems to make programs run more effectively.

Clear & Direct Communicator: You communicate expectations, feedback, and support with clarity and care across teachers, interns, and teammates.

Responsibilities

Site Ownership & School Partnerships (50%)

  • Manage 2–4 school sites, serving as the primary point of contact for school leaders and teacher partners
  • Build strong relationships with school staff and ensure alignment on program goals, schedules, and expectations
  • Conduct regular check-ins with lead teacher partners (2x per week) to support planning, troubleshoot challenges, and maintain program quality
  • Be on-site at each assigned school at least once per week to observe, support, and strengthen implementation
  • Foster a site culture rooted in belonging, accountability, and engagement

Teacher Support & Professional Development (20%)

  • Support teachers in implementing BOLT’s pre-designed curriculum with fidelity and adaptability
  • Lead trainings and professional development sessions for teachers and facilitators
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to strengthen facilitation, classroom culture, and student engagement

Intern Management & Team Leadership (15%)

  • Manage 1–3 interns, including onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Delegate effectively and support interns in contributing to site success
  • Build a strong team culture grounded in accountability and growth

Program Quality & Implementation (10%)

  • Monitor program delivery across sites to ensure consistency and quality
  • Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement across schools
  • Provide feedback to strengthen curriculum and program design over time

Data, Systems & Coordination (5%)

  • Track attendance, participation, and key program data across sites
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed (forms, stipends, compliance materials)
  • Collaborate with internal team members to support continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of relevant experience in education, youth development, or community-based programming, with increasing responsibility
  • Experience working in or with schools, including partnering with teachers or school staff
  • Experience coaching, managing, or supporting adults (teachers, facilitators, interns, or peers)
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain accountability across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple priorities or sites with strong organization and follow-through
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate or support engaging learning experiences for youth (ages 13–18)
  • Deep familiarity with Philadelphia’s communities, schools, and youth landscape (residency strongly preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Availability during school-day hours (approximately 7:30am–3:30pm on weekdays)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for program events
  • Must have access to a reliable car and be able to travel between school sites regularly
  • Legally authorized to work full-time in the U.S.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances: Criminal background, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or related field preferred)

Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience
  • Health Coverage: 100% medical, 75% dental, and 75% vision insurance
  • Time Off: Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and public holidays
  • Flexible Work: Work-from-home flexibility during non-programming hours
  • Mission-Driven Work: Opportunity to shape and scale a model that builds leadership pipelines within Philadelphia schools
