Entry Level Welder/Fabricator

Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Thursday

Pay: $18-$24

Overview:

If you’ve built strong tenure in manufacturing and want to take the next step into welding, this is the spot for you. We offer a structured 6–8 week, paid training program that teaches the fundamentals of welding and fabrication—no prior welding experience required. You’ll earn while you learn, then transition into production welding on large steel assemblies with a team that values safety, quality, and reliability.

What You’ll Do:

• Complete a 6–8 week welding training program covering safety, weld theory, torch use, joint prep, and basic fabrication.
• Learn and apply MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel in flat/horizontal positions; progress to additional positions as proficiency grows.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
• Prep materials: measure, cut, grind, fit, and tack components to specification.
• Use hand and power tools (grinders, tape measures, squares, clamps) safely and effectively.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Manufacturing experience with solid work history/tenure (reliable attendance and strong references).
• Genuine interest in welding and learning a skilled trade.
• Comfortable with standing, lifting 50+ lbs, bending, and repetitive tasks in a shop environment.
• Basic math and measurement skills (tape measure to 1/16”, fractions/decimals).
• Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety rules; good attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, coachability, and team-first mindset.

Work Environment & Tools:

• Heavy manufacturing setting with steel fabrication.
• Use of welders, grinders, hoists, measuring tools, PPE ( steel-toe boots required ).
• Safety-first culture with clear standards and support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux City, IA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Sioux City,IA.
