Directional Drill Operator

Doylestown, OH

We are seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator to support underground fiber and utility construction projects. This role involves operating drill equipment, working in various soil conditions, and traveling to job sites as needed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in HDD operations.

• PAY: $32-$35 per hour (depending on experience)

Work Environment:

• Outdoor construction sites in various weather conditions
• Physically demanding role requiring lifting, standing, and extended periods of activity
• Long hours ad overtime as needed
• Travel-based work with overnight stays (per diem may be offered depending on project)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating directional drill rigs (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.)
• Experience with underground telecom/fiber installation preferred
• Ability to read and interpret utility locates, prints, and bore plans
• Knowledge of HDD safety standards and procedures
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate directional drill equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform bore planning and execute underground installations
• Ensure proper depth, alignment, and drilling accuracy
• Conduct pre-tip inspections and routine maintenance
• Work closely with locators and crew to avoid utility conflicts
• Complete daily production and safety reports
• Tavel to job sites ad support project needs as required
