Job Description
Construction Litigation Attorney
Hybrid Flexibility
Some construction litigation roles feel like endless motion practice with little ownership. This one doesn't.
My client is a well-regarded firm trusted by contractors, developers, and insurers when projects go sideways and the stakes are real. They're looking for a construction defense attorney who can take control of files, exercise judgment, and operate with confidence-without being micromanaged. If you enjoy being the attorney clients rely on (not the one waiting for instructions), this role was built for you.
What You'll Actually Do
Defend construction professionals in complex disputes involving defect claims, delay claims, catastrophic loss, and contract conflicts
Handle matters through litigation, arbitration, and mediation, with the runway to take cases to trial
Draft and negotiate construction contracts with an eye toward risk allocation and dispute avoidance, not just redlines
Advise clients on risk management, compliance, and practical strategies that align with how construction businesses actually operate
Own your cases-from early assessment through resolution-with support when you need it and autonomy when you don't
Who This Is For
A Colorado-licensed attorney in good standing
5+ years of construction law experience, ideally on the defense side
Comfortable being the point person on matters, making judgment calls, and moving cases forward independently
Strong litigation instincts; trial experience is a major plus (real trials, not just proximity to them)
Clear communicator who can translate legal strategy into business-savvy advice clients trust
Why This Role Stands Out
Meaningful responsibility without chaos
Sophisticated construction matters, not cookie-cutter files
A firm culture that values competence, independence, and professionalism
Hybrid flexibility while maintaining a strong in-office legal team
Compensation
Base salary range: $150,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience
Comprehensive benefits package
